Vijay Boyapati was raised in Canberra and came to ANU through the distinguished scholar program. He thrived on a mix of mathematics and computer science subjects, winning a University Medal when he graduated with first class honours in 2000. He went on to live in the United States where he worked for Google during its early years, in particular Google News. Now a highly successful software engineer, Vijay is currently pursuing his interests in economics.
This scholarship is supported through his generous donation to the University.
Awarded by the Mathematical Sciences Institute to a student entering the final honours year of a bachelor degree in either Mathematics or Computer Science, and whose project is considered by the committee to be an appropriate mix of both areas.
