A graphical calculus will be developed for the algebra of shifted symmetric functions defined by Okounkov and Olshanski, using the Heisenberg categorification of Khovanov. We describe both graphical realisations of some important bases of the algebra of shifted symmetric functions and conversely give some combinatorial descriptions of important bases of the Heisenberg category using the language of free probability.
