Khovanov homology can be defined for links in thickened surfaces. After reminding us how it works in the thickened annulus (where Khovanov homology naturally carries a $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ action), Hoel Queffelec and Paul Wedrich will explain additional gradings that arise in the general case.
