These talks, as part of the 2012 special year: Inverse problems, will consider the theoretical infrastructure that has been developed to underpin the theory and application of inverse problems. We will focus on challenges in methodology and associated theoretical aspects, and highlight the important role played by mathematical analysis in the study of inverse problems and their algorithms.
