Description
Abstract
I've spent the last 6 years working as a senior investigator on a National Science Foundation grant developing and researching the effectiveness of curricular materials for preservice teachers to learn to focus on students' thinking when teaching with math action technologies. In this talk, I'll share the teaching practice we have found to be most beneficial to helping preservice teachers envision and implement math teaching in a way that forefronts student exploration and development of their conceptual understanding.
There will be an interactive component to the talk so please bring a tablet or laptop computer.
