RegisterDescription
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. At MSI, we have many visitors and we travel frequently. Yet, while we acknowledge the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples where our Hanna Neumann building is situated, how many of us reflect on the lands from which our visitors come from, or that we travel to? This year, we encourage you to reflect on the lands you have visited and the lands your visitors have come from. The MSI has just purchased an AIATSIS map of Indigenous Australia, which will display these lands proudly in the foyer for the immediate future so you can view them as you come and go. A local Indigenous Elder will give a Welcome to Country, and this will be followed by a catered lunch. Please register for dietary purposes. We hope you will be able to join us to reflect on the comings and goings of the MSI.
The ANU National Reconciliation Week Lecture will be delivered at 1:30pm, so there is time to head to that event following this one.
Lunch will be provided after the event, please register for catering and dietary purposes.
