Maths Extension and Enrichment Programs for High School Students
Do you have a special interest in mathematics?
The Mathematical Sciences Institute at ANU is hosting two programs that are targeted at high school students with an interest and/or talent for mathematics. Both programs will improve your study skills, help you develop confidence in your academic abilities and foster your enjoyment in mathematics.
Maths Extension Program
This program provides an enhanced learning experience for year 11 and 12 students in ACT schools and colleges. ACT students can count the ANU Extension Specialist mathematics course toward their ATAR aggregate. Students who successfully undertake studies in ANU Extension will be able to articulate into an ANU bachelor degree program and receive credit towards the bachelor degree for the studies successfully completed. Students wishing to enter the ANU Extension program should have a confirmed enrolment at an ACT College or school.

Canberra Enrichment Program
The Canberra Mathematics Enrichment program consists of enrichment sessions for year 8 - 12 students, with the option of participating in the International Tournament of Towns - an international competition organised from Moscow in which Canberra students have participated for many years. The program is organised in conjunction with the Australian Mathematics Trust at the University of Canberra, the Australian Signals Directorate and the Defence Science and Technology Group.
It is about enrichment rather than acceleration through the school syllabus. Students will be exposed to a range of extra-curricular material, with an emphasis on solving problems in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
> Nurture and stimulate your interest in mathematics with peers.
> Develop problem-solving skills for the future.
