MATRIX announces new research program to enhance engagement

MATRIX, an international research institute for the mathematical sciences, has created a new fund to share knowledge with external partners across diverse sectors of the economy. This fund is made possible by the generous support of the Simons Foundation.

Mathematical knowledge makes a significant contribution across many aspects of the global economy such as cybersecurity, public health, financial markets, transport control and weather forecasting. This fund will provide enhanced opportunities to share knowledge across differenct economic sectors, facilitated by MATRIX Research Programs.

MATRIX is a partnership between The Australian National University, Monash University and The University of Melbourne, with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS) and The University of Queensland as associate members. MATRIX provides key infrastructure for facilitating and supporting research in the mathematical sciences in Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

MATRIX is located in Creswick, 90 minutes to the west of Melbourne, an inspiring environment for creative thinking.
