Abstract

Spacetimes formed from the cartesian product of Minkowski spacetime and a compact space play an important role in supergravity and string theory. In this talk I will present a recent joint work with C. Huneau and A. Stingo showing the nonlinear classical stability of such a product spacetime in the case when the compact space is a flat torus. I will also explain some of the analysis of wave and Klein-Gordon equations which goes into the proof.
