Abstract:
I will discuss the recent resolution of the 1975 Alekseevskii conjecture on homogeneous Einstein manifolds, in joint work with Christoph Böhm. A key feature is that we use PDE methods to solve an algebraic equation. If time permits, I will also discuss new results and future directions.
