Description
Abstract:
The goal of this colloquium is to explain the following fact: because the speed of light is large, solutions of relativistic wave equations can be approximated by solutions of the Schrodinger equation. We will introduce the relevant PDEs and state some relevant theorems, including upcoming work with Hassell, Jia, and Vasy. Technical details will be kept to a minimum, and the results will be illustrated with numerics.
