Abstract:
I’ll sketch a program for generalizing scheme theory from rings to semirings. For example, projective schemes over the non-negative reals, natural numbers, Boolean numbers, and tropical numbers. I’ll spend some time focused on extensions of the concept of vector bundle and line bundle to this setting. It turns out that some definitions, such as projective module and locally free sheaf quasi-coherent sheaf, which agree over rings diverge over general semirings. However for line bundles all classical definitions agree.
