Description

Abstract: In this talk I will mainly reflect on my time at ANU since arriving as a PhD student in the Mathematics Department in 1985. I will recall some of the characters along the way, including those who helped to shape my work. The main research highlights to be covered are aspects of the Temperley-Lieb-Jones algebra and Yang-Baxter integrability, some early work on fractals and an amusing detour into mathematical geobiology.
