Advanced computational techniques
Our projects cover computational methods used in biology, chemistry, physics, finance and machine learning. They prepare applied and pure mathematicians for collaborative work with scientists and engineers and for doing a PhD in this area.

About
New techniques will be analysed both theoretically and through computational experiments. Themes of the research include high-dimensional problems, ill-posed problems, adaptive non-linear approximation and high performance computing. Typically, the projects will involve computational science and mathematical modelling. The students will be part of an active research group which meets weekly including other undergraduate students, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. There might be a possibility for the student to work as a research assistant while doing an honours project.
