Abstract
I will explain how recent progress on computing the Chow rings of moduli spaces of smooth curves combines with older topological results on the cohomology of the mapping class group to verify predictions from the Langlands program on the cohomology of the moduli space of stable curves. This is joint work with Hannah Larson and Sam Payne.
