Description
Abstract:
In 1996, Shvartsman investigated braid groups of projective real reflection groups by relating them to quotients of classical braid groups by their center. His goal was to identify possible orders of torsion elements in these quotients.
Shvartsman then conjectured that his results could be extended to the complex case, but complex braid groups would only be introduced two years later by Broué, Malle, Rouquier. In this talk, I will detail a proof of the first conjecture of Shvartsman in the general case, along with the general ideas of the proof of the second conjecture.
